2 candidates for acting President.
Members of the National Assembly congregated in Cape town at 11:00am this morning to cast their votes for acting President.There are in fact two nominated candidates.The DA has nominated the party chairperson, Joe Seremane.The other candidate is of course Kgalema Motlanthe,ANC deputy President.
Proceedings have briefly been put on hold while ballots are printed and MP’s cast their votes.
The successful candidate will then be announced and sworn in as President at Tuynhuys,and announce the names of the new Deputy President and Cabinet ministers.
The announcement should be made within the hour.
