In a press conference broadcast from Washington,USA, Trevor Manuel has stated that he will be willing to serve the acting President,Kgalema Motlanthe who is to be sworn in later today.He also said that the resignations handed in by him and other ministers were made to allow the incoming President a chance to appoint his own cabinet.

The successful candidate was Kgalema Motlante, formerly ANC Deputy President,now President of South Africa.This does not come as a surprise to most as he was the favourite to win.
The nominees were voted on by MP’s that congregated at Parliament in Cape Town.The voting was presided over by Chief Justice Pius Langa.
President Kgalema Motlanthe will be sworn in at 14:30 in the adjacent building Tuynhuys,and thereafter announce the new Deputy President and Cabinet ministers.

Today was another historic day in South Africa. What next?
Trevor Manuel and 13 other ministers resigned. The ANC is how ever saying that everything is under control. WHAT!!! You can not even manage your ministers! How is that control?
What will happen to our economy? What is the real story? Only time will tell.
On the other hand this might just be what our country needs, a split in the ANC so we can have a government that actually works.
